A Poem which attempts to dissuade you from bringing your budgie to Great Outdoors

Don't bring your budgie to Great Outdoors
Not if he begs you flat on all fours
or if he flaps, and shouts, and roars
don't give in to intimidation

Budgies offer no defence
will roost on the expensive tents
nest near the golf clubs, make little sense,
lead to no end of frustration

Don't think he won't peck at the canoes
or jump on trampolines, like an untrained goose
In the Great Outdoors shop, budgies are just no use
won't gain you any admiration

So tell the budgie it's no, not maybe
it's not that you're tired, or even lazy
but if he thinks you're bringin him, he must be crazy
no Great Outdoors (or Millets) for your budgie today

with thanks to Mr Titus for the commission

I can just see that Budgie in Intimidation for Small Birds class! Don't you give in!

Mr Titus suitably mortified, and has used both of his poetry critique words (i.e. the only things he ever utters in response to anything I write - "Nice" and "Powerful") at once!
And very pleased because outdoors shops are the only kind he likes. Oh, the pleasures of browsing in ice-axes...

my budgies had a phobia of the great outdoors.. i think it was because of the cats...

Milletts!! Very clever

It was Mr Titus what thought of that.

Though he's not particularly clever.

NanU - I certainly won't
Titus - he is extremely clever to have a Titus as his Mrs surely
watercats - my dog likes the outdoors, same reason - cats everywhere in lucanland on our morning walk today for some weird reason.
Yes Peter - If only I'd thought of it... sigh.

Four legged Budgies? Definitely poteen.

Surely two out of the four can be wings tho!

My budgie sees himself quite regal
kindred with the majestic eagle
so though he'll see no great outdoors
can he at least explore the moors?

TFE - Like Duh! :-)
Acorn - but of course! Tks for asking though, always safer to ask :-)
