It's personal

So... in new news - I've been nominated - well actually this blog has been nominated - as part of the irish blogger awards - it's pretty exciting really, there's an award ceremony and everything, but only if you get through a few rounds of judging - but there's only 88 or so other blogs in my category, so I'll surely get through to the last 5 or so.
Speaking of the category - I didn't know, and perhaps you don't know this either but this is actually a Personal blog. I thought it was fashion (see yesterday's post), literature (see poems in shops), journalism (see the slippy pole reports), sport (see the Gaa dinner dance report), politics (see my attendance in person at a real live political thingume yoke), avant garde - adventures in experimentalism , or maybe even business (see Kleeneze article) .... but no, it's personal - due to the copious amounts of smushiness I guess, or the intimate portrayal of life as a person...
And anyone who says this is just a cheap attempt to show off my range of variousness in blogdom is way off the mark there, way off.
Thanks anyway to whomever took the time to nominate me. I appreciate it muchly.
If you wanna check out the competition aka my new sworn enemies - see here....

I'd like to say well done, but bitterness and envy are making the words stick in my mouth.....

(Ok, well done!)

Thanks folks - think it only takes one nomination, and you're allowed nominate yourself, but still I've a warm glowy "someone out there likes what I'm doing" kinda feeling.

Do you think it would impress the judges if you have loads of comments?

Niamh B said...

Why yes! anonymous commenter, I think it would... might be more impressive if celebrities were commenting though.

Hmm - perhaps Leonard, or maybe some kind of Irish celebrity?...

Well, I don't know if I'd call myself a celeb, (more of a dignitary I guess), but you've got my vote!! I never miss your words of wisdom.

Goodness, Niamh, I'm impressed with the glittering aray of celebdom...if I was a judge, it'd sway me!!!

I know!! And I know this blog has never done any of those things that seem like hard work... such as labels, or fancy backgrounds or anything - but really that's just part of it's retro charm, and I think that's why I have so many famous fans, it's a refuge - this place - for those overwhelmed by information overload - you can always come here, safe in the knowledge that you'll never leave burdened with any more information than you brought.

Amen to that, sometimes you just need a break from all the intelligent blogs out there and find a nice safe "Personal" blog like this one.

Well done indeed, Mrs Various.I've followed your blog like a bicycle clip clip clipping on my fathers bicycle.I think your blog is as buttery as butter found in the ancient Bog Of Allen, scoped with a tinsmiths scoop below the twinkle of my eye.

Lots of love and good luck in the awards, Cheery bye now.Seamus Heaney.

Thank you muchly Seamus - you seem to have accidentally signed in using TFE's account - go on, admit it - he writes all your poems...
Anyway TFE, if you ever get the computer back off Seamus - keep up the good work and best of luck in the awards yourself, you and your blog are institutions both, so I'm pretty sure you'll be bringing a gong back to the castle - I'm already practising my "I'm so not dissappointed" face for the close up at the ceremony...
