Amidst all the excitement of "International put your poem in a shop month" you'd be forgiven for thinking I'd be forgiven for forgetting about the most forgotten pole in Ireland, but no - the very latest from the slippy pole, last seen on this blog here and before that here, here, here,
and first spotted here...
Well here it is today - the slippery warning sign is still clinging on for dear life - at this rate it should still be there when the road is actually slippery again and needs a new sign to go up, but instead of spending the country's hard earned money on a new sign the clever council people will point to their great conservational genius and hoist the old sign proudly on the pole. I will, of course, let you know if there are any further developments.
In other news, so invigorated by the immense success of my first poem placement in a shop I have already written the next one. This time to go into a make up counter or gifty chemist type environment. Here it is
Go
Frenzied gift hunt, seek bright shiny crap
Dazed mirror eye contact, you shed glitter like snow
No box-set, cream/ face paint, unguent or slap
Makes you younger or sexier or fitter than now
Poem testing will commence over the weekend...
This just in - new poems spotted in colourful looking shops in titus land - click here for more.

I got my poem up in a hairdressers of all places - I'll stick the pic up tomorrow hopefully
Love it!!
Good job Colm! :) This is so much fun.
I have tried and, Mallory-esque, failed. Full story, plus pictures, now posted.
I am not deterred.
Can't wait to see that Uisce - exciting!
Thanks NanU - hope there'll be a poem up in France soon?
Oub - isn't it just?
Titus, you have far from failed, you have been the first international partaker in the international put your poem in a shop month.. there was no stipulation on how long it had to stay there after all... mission accomplished!!
Thanks Niamh! You have obviously been on a team-building course. I have plans, once I get my hands on the car!
hhhmmm.. it all sounds so exciting!.. I'm doing most of my shopping on e-bay lately though... hhhmmm.. maybe I could put one up for auction! :-)
Titus, it's that obvious isn't it? There's no "I" in team - but there is in winner!
Go on Watercats - you haven't lived till you've written a little poem for the express purpose of putting it up in public somewhere, to stimulate the lives and minds of the dazed shoppers, and then trying to get a picture of it in said public place.
Unguent is an underused word.More unguent please people.Shedding glitter like snow is a cool line too.My mission accomplished today, but I've never used a camera phone before and though I took the image,I didn't save it.Doh!Will post tomorrow with homebased proper camera back up pic. This project is snowballing like a , er, snowball.
Thanks for trying TFE - you've a whole month to get something up there - just checked back and last year it did last the month, so there's no pressure there. Once you do it for the first time it's kind of addictive tho - all our new year's resolutions will have to be "giving up putting up poems in shops"...
And tks for your kind remarks on the poem!
Need to get on this . . . perhaps tomorrow?
Go On Jessica - you can be the first ever non european poem placer!!
