Dog Blog

So this is the mysterious reason for the extra exercise and possibly less blogs. She's a one and a half year old rescue dog and we adopted her today. (Things have worked out so one of us can be home more often for those welfare-ish people out there)
She is a little bit mad - thinks the bodhrán stick is a bone. Thinks everything is a game. Likes carrots. Likes jumping up on things/ people/ tables/ sofas. She's actually quite respectful of the laptop, she's sitting beside me on the couch watching me typing. I think we're going to get on fine...
The gold fishes are looking nervous tho

That is so exciting. I love new pets, and so I am living vicariously through you, as we are not at all close to getting any more animals. So glad you could make it all work, I'm sure the dog is ecstatic also!

My dog loved carrots too. Isn't a new dog, and one with its own ideas at that, a reason for more exercise and _more_ blogging, not less...?

A poet's best friend for sure.

TFE - her paws are massive, but yeah - you seem to have an instinct for these things... creepy.
Thanks Titus - I'm thinkin of calling her Jaws for the purposes of this blog - to protect her identity, and also because her real name is kinda stoopid, but she's used to it now, so we have to use it (It's Dora)
Thanks Jessica, she seems pretty happy with her new home alright, and we're delighted to have her - if we can just teach her the difference between toys and not toys now.
Yes NanU - I've already had 3 walks this weekend, and it's only 20 past ten sunday morning! Crazy clean living lifestyle - and yeah here will probably be the perfect place to rant about her mad foibles - since she doesn't read blogs in general, she tried to climb up the chimney last night - there's the first mad cap adventure for you!
Rachel - there's probably gonna be hundreds of dog poems... the only little bit I got to write yesterday was, predictably enough, all about her... but yeah the walks mightn't be bad for the writing either - if Dorothea Brande is to be believed.
Thanks all for your congrats! If the laptop survives another while I'll be back soon!
