Laptops and soup

I was going to post a little theory tonight on the fact that I think a bad memory might actually be good for writing, since if you have one, you will be able to read really really widely, without remembering too much, so will always have your own distinctive voice. Anyway I decided not to blog about that because of a nagging feeling that I may have already done that sometime in the past, and I just can't remember it - which is ironic... or not... perhaps it fits in that song... (It's like thinking of doing a blooooooog, and then not remembering if you've already done one about memooorrray).
So instead I thought I'd blog about soup and laptops, both things that I like and have a keen interest in, but they are difficult to combine - in terms of enjoying the two things at once - which is also not at all ironic, but simply a cruel hard fact of life.
What two things do you wish you could enjoy together and you simply can't?

I guess the new product developer in me had hoped I could come up with clever inventions to help. For you Uisce - a writers waterproof paper, and pen with shot glass attached, a new game for nintendo Wii. For you TFE - a midriff support, incorporating odour control and automatic tissue dispenser - allowing both actions to be enjoyed with abandon. For you Lily - a dreamtaper - which takes your dreams and automatically transcribes them into novel or poem form at the flick of a switch.
All of these devices - available soon from the Kleeneze catalogue.

On being Mature and young, and saying and doing - I think you are both confused there - in that you enjoy one of the above, and enjoy the thought of the other.
For the head tapping/ belly rubbing - I can advise practise. And I can recommend a dry suit or flying - for the swimming/ getting wet dilemma.

Success and laziness...

Oub,
I'd have to say that all depends on what you want to be successful at - you could be extremely successful at being lazy - see? It's all a matter of perspective. In other words - no... I couldn't think of an invention to solve this one!

Cake and slimness

Spinning around really fast and not feeling dizzy.

Dogs and not having to clean up after them

I'd agree with domestic oub.. I was trying to think of how to phrase it, and they did it already...
chocolate and slimness also...
cigarettes and health another...

agree with you completely about the bad memory thing, I've often thought same thing. Sometimes I write a song (get me with the art!) and then find out it sounds exactly the same as someone else's though.. like the father ted eurovision moment... so it only works sometimes...

Oh god Matt - you have me there, I can suggest having your ear bones removed for the second one - because they sense your balance, maybe taking them away will mean you won't feel a lack thereof.
Watercats - If you are using the cigarettes in a purely artistic way - enjoying the aesthetics of them - stuck onto a picture say, then I can confirm that this will have no adverse health effects. And yeah - lack of memory can be a drawback in creativity too - especially when you have a great idea for a story, and then just.... can't.... recall. grrr
